SITE SELECTION

For the last decade, the Northeast Michigan Council of Governments (NEMCOG) has collaborated with regional Economic Development Organizations to manage commercial and industrial listings on the MEDC’s Property Search website. The original process relied on EDOs forwarding available sites to NEMCOG for upload, but sites were rarely removed when sold or leased, resulting in outdated regional listings.

To strengthen accuracy, improve responsiveness, and ensure Ogemaw County’s economic interests are represented first, this revised plan establishes the Ogemaw County Economic Development Corporation (OCEDC) as the primary coordinator of all site selection activities within Ogemaw County. NEMCOG will serve as a secondary regional support entity, providing technical assistance, funding administration, and data integration once OCEDC has completed its review and approval of site information.
