GOING PRO TALENT FUND

Michigan employers looking to take advantage of the Going PRO Talent Fund program will be able to apply for a share of at least $55 million in competitive training funds available to Michigan businesses.  In 2023/24 Ogemaw county received over $139,000.

MICHIGAN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation, in collaboration with more than 100 economic development partners, markets Michigan as the place to do business, assists businesses in their growth strategies and fosters the growth of vibrant communities across the state.

MICHIGAN SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER

The Michigan Small Business Development Center offers expert assistance at no cost to entrepreneurs looking to start or grow a business

OPPORTUNITY ZONE

Ogemaw County has 2 opportunity zones. The Opportunity Zone program is designed to incentivize patient capital investments in low-income communities nationwide that have been cut off from capital and experienced a lack of business growth. There are three types of tax incentives that relate to the treatment of capital gains, each of the incentives are connected to the longevity of an investor’s stake in a qualified Opportunity Fund that provides the most upside to those who hold their investment for 10 years or more.

We serve job seekers, employers and community partners in Arenac, Clare,  Gladwin, Iosco, Ogemaw, and Roscommon counties with our workforce expertise and resources.


Each year we provide employment and training services to a large portion of the region’s workforce to ensure it meets the needs of area employers.

At the same time, employers turn to us for help to recruit, hire, and retain qualified workers.

NORTHERN INITIATIVES

Providing Loans and Business Expertise to Start-up and Existing Businesses

Northern Initiatives is a non-profit CDFI that provides loans to small business owners and entrepreneurs in Michigan that might not qualify for loans from traditional banks for a variety of reasons.

Did you know the federal government purchases more than $500 billion of goods and services a year and the State of Michigan has a diverse portfolio valued at more than $11.6 billion?

PTAC provides NO FEE assistance to businesses which are interested in doing business with state and federal government agencies.
